Hating On: The New Facebook

For those of you lucky enough to have not yet gone to new.facebook.com and who use Facebook, don't. Like the brown acid at Woodstock, "it's your own trip, but please be adviced there's a warning on that one, okay?"

You just don't like change. I find the new facebook nicely organized. I'm sure that once the new Facebook goes live for everyone, people will start to get used to it and then it'll be comfortable. Isn't that the way things have always happened with Facebook? When it was new, you had to get used to it, when they added apps, you had to get used to them. (I HATED apps when they first came out.) Now it's just another change that people will get used to. Personally, I think it's a change for the better, though there is still a learning curve. MY only gripe with the new layout is that the pokes received area is far enough down that you have to scroll to see it on some computers.

I think the idea of the new Facebook is a good one. But even though you're entirely right about my aversion to change, there are more than enough issues with the new set up for my proclamation to hold. And soon, I'll detail exactly what I hate about the new version (a lack of a distinct "wall" is one of those things). I want a hybrid of the two, but the new one is still too jarring and not as user-friendly. So all in all, good idea, bad bad bad execution.
